Foot Care – Get Rid of Smelly Feet
Smelly feet are often the result of shoes and socks with poor ventilation. The foot is covered in sweat glands (they are more abundant then anywhere else on the body) that produce perspiration and can cause the intensity of odor to increase.
The material from which socks are made of is very important because some synthetic materials may not allow the foot to ventilate so this causes the foot to increase perspiration, therefore intensify odor.
The best socks that allow your foot to breath are made from 100% cotton fibers. Nylon stockings or pantyhose may increase the perspiration.
Foot odor may appear by wearing the same pear of socks and shoes too many times in row. The major cause of foot odor is considered to be Brevibacteria which ingests the dead skin on the soles and between the toes releasing a sulfuric odor.
To prevent your feet from smelling you should:
– wash your feet with antibacterial soap on everyday basis to reduce bacteria. – keep your feet dry because bacteria thrives in moisture and high temperature. – use antiperspirants because they reduce the sweat release, so the less sweat means less odor. – use deodorant to control the odor.
