Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2020 Collection New York Fashion Week

The Marc by Marc Jacobs fall 2020 collection made its debut on February 11 from 8PM at Theater, and this time, the designer decided to head back to the seventies for inspiration. Numerous designers showing their latest creations at the New York Fashion Week this season opted to turn back to past trends and gather their ideas from iconic garments and their reinterpretation of femininity makes the wait for the new take on fashion worth while!

Usually designers with decades of experience in the business choose iconic styles as their muse and Marc Jacobs is one of those designers that managed to revamp old trends and give them a totally hot contemporary vibe.

We just have to say that we love the refinement and femininity brought by vintage fashion and above all we adore the Marc by Marc Jacobs fall 2020 collection that restored midis, high waist skirts and wide leg capris, buttoned-up shirts, structural coats and impeccably tailored separated to their glory days. Some of the brand’s creations from New york Fashion Week 2020, specifically the satin finish separates remind us of Marc Jacobs’ spring 2020 collection which took on a vintage approach to style and revealed the same satin finish fabric only cut after distinct patterns.

Although there is a perfect balance maintained between masculine chic garments and all-feminine designs, the dresses and skirts displayed in the collection got the best of our attention as the classically shaped garments displayed both toned down and vibrant pigments and featured eclectic prints that got our hearts racing from start to finish.

Marc Jacobs’ love for mixing harsh with delicate details can also be observed in the previous Marc by Marc Jacobs fall 2020 collection, but for this fall 2020 the designer apparently chose a much softer and much more feminine approach to style. The high volume curly hair sported by the models down the New York Fashion Week runway helped underline the seventies extravaganza and created a story that kept the eyes focused on the well structured garments from beginning to end. We absolutely loved the collection but the question that remains unanswered is: do you see yourself rocking the seventies style this fall?
