Tory Burch Pre-Fall 2020 Collection
Okay, so we know you’re now dreaming of warm summer days yet with the new collections for the 2020 cold-weather season already released it is impossible to resist not to take a peek at the world’s most famous designers’ latest creations. And boy oh boy, what an impressive parade of silhouettes and textures and a kaleidoscope of colors, prints and eye-catching embellishments.
Well, one of the lines that totally captured our attention was the Tory Burch pre-fall 2020 collection. Why? Because we’re so excited that the renowned designer brings one of the hottest trends ever: military. And we love it so much! “We haven’t done military recently. “And I was kind of missing it,” Burch says. “For Pre-Fall 2020, we were inspired by an officer’s jacket my mother wore and handed down to me. We play military jackets and coats against chiffon dresses, knit suits and clean separates, with embroidery and beading meant to look like prints. Boxy bags reflect the tailored mood, while flats feature a strict pointy-toe and booties, a contrasting gold heel,” the designer explains.
The new Tory Burch pre-fall 2020 collection features beautiful dresses and skirts, but also pants and some stunning coats, jacquards, rhinestones, florals, and look-at-me-now, bold beading. Well, not to mention those big and oh-so-wonderfully-colored jewelry goodies and those awesomely adorned bags and shoes! Tory confesses that her design style was influenced by her family, namely her mother and father, Reva and Buddy Robinson. It seems that her mother’s wool coat inspired the designs in this line as well. When she launched her company, Tory looked to old photographs of her parents and their travels for inspiration. “My father had impeccable style. He designed all of his own clothing. I think he should have been a designer,” she said in an interview with Rock Center.
The fact that she wasn’t a designer and didn’t have a retail background made people be rather skeptic regarding Tory’s future in fashion. “I had never been to business school. I had never been to design school,” she said, adding that, “It was a risk. It was putting myself out there in a way that was opening myself up for criticism. I’m a sensitive person. So, it was hard.” Still, Tory Burch managed to become a well-known name in the industry creating a luxury lifestyle brand. “Regardless of whether your first jobs are the right ones for you, be cognizant enough to take something away from each experience. It will help you find your passion,” the designer reveals.
