No matter what app we have, it is up to the user to actually take action.
Many of these apps create a sense of accountability for us. Because we typically always now have our phones with us, they can offer a constant reminder that we are on our way to a healthier, fitter lifestyle.
This can be difficult with a notebook and pen. A notebook and pen are easily put out of sight and out of mind.
Apps are like exercise equipment. If they are not used properly they don’t work.
With the phone apps we can set reminders and alarms to get us exercising.
We can also more easily see what our food intake is and track due to instant calculations, something we would have to manually figure out with a notebook and pen.
Fitness can be made easy in the sense we can easily make up routines, track progress and track our diet. But we still need to get up and take initiative to reach our fitness goals.
