In this latest of our exclusive series of super healthy, delicious meals by ‘paleo king’ Pete Evans, we are looking at Bone Broth with turmeric, cumin and lemon.

Bone broth, with turmeric, cumin and lemon
Bone broth may not sound immediately appetising to some, but the taste and the health benefits are tremendous.
There is significant evidence to show that benefits can include:
Leaky gut syndrome is combated through bone broth and healthy guts are given great protection.
It seems to fight diarrhoea, constipation and even some food intolerances.
Glucosamine content is great for this. So to is the chondroitin sulfate which has been shown to help fight osteoarthritis.
Look younger and sleep better
Sleep and looking younger and fresher go hand in hand. You’ve probably heard of collagen. Bone broth is a great source.
The glycene helps us to sleep better.
The high mineral content ensure bone both is right up there with the superfoods. The bone marrow is a great support to the immune system.

Paleo Bone Broth
Yield: 360 ml
Preparation time: 2 minutes
Cooking time: 2 minutes
Allergens: Fish (if using fish broth)
– 350 ml hot chicken, beef bone or fish broth
– 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
– 1 pinch ground cumin
– 1½ – 2 teaspoons lemon juice, or enough to taste
– Sea salt, to taste
Pour the hot broth in a mug, then add the turmeric, cumin, lemon juice and a pinch of salt and give it a good stir.
Take a sip and enjoy.
