While celebrity hairstyles get as much coverage in magazines as the fashion, some celebrities choose a daring look by completely shaving their head. Whether it’s for a part, for charity or for other reasons, these female celebrities who shaved their heads and still looked gorgeous.

The 26-year old British actress shaved her beautiful red hair for a part in “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Even though she actually knew that a buzz cut came with the part, she didn’t feel confident she’d join the Marvel movie.
“I was told before I auditioned for the role that I would have to shave my head if I got it (…) So I was like ‘Yeah sure guys, absolutely I’ll shave my head. Not a problem.’ And then three screen tests later I’m like ‘Oh, this might actually happen…’”, she told Yahoo Movies UK.
After giving up her blond hair for the 2020 film “Heaven”, Cate Blanchett admitted to being one of the female celebrities who shaved their heads and enjoyed it! The Australian actress would even do it again, since already got used to super short hair in her youth. “When I was at school, I used to shave my hair really close. It was like a Victorian schoolboy haircut. It was just so easy. And for some reason, I’ve let it grow again, but I think I’ll just cut it all off again,” Blanchett told The Huffington Post.
Another risk-taking actress, Charlize Theron gave up her hair for the movie “Mad Max: Fury Road” and transitioned back to longer hair with the help of a gorgeous pixie cut. Calling the experience “freeing”, the actress seemed to really enjoy it. “I highly recommend it. I think every woman should do it,” Theron admitted.
Unlike other celebrities who shaved their heads, British singer Jessie J did it for charity and on live TV! The singer gave up her signature bob look to raise funds for the 25th annual Comic Relief “Red Nose Day”, in order to support multiple charities in the UK and abroad.
Country singer Kellie Pickler had a different reason to giving up her beautiful hair. The former “American Idol” contestant decided to get rid of her hair in order to give emotional support to a close friend diagnosed with breast cancer. By doing it on “Good Morning America”, Pickler also raised awareness for an important cause.
Beyoncé’s younger sister Solange has been slowly getting recognition for her music, but she was also one of the female celebrities who shaved their heads without much of an explanation. She rocked her super short hair and hinted that she was tired of maintaining her longer locks in a weird way: “this. phase. of. my. life. i. want to spend . the time. the energy. and the money. on something else. not in the hair salon.”
Another actress who gave up her hair for a good part, Natalie Portman shaved her head when she filmed “V For Vendetta”. Unlike other celebrities who shaved their heads then stuck to hats before it grew back, Portman showed off her new hairstyle on the red carpet plenty of times.
During one of the most publicized celebrity meltdowns, Britney Spears shaved her head and that may have cost her control of her fortune. The pop singer is still under a conservatorship after the incident, but despite her emotional state at the time, she could certainly pull off a buzz cut.
Making headlines when she shaved her head on screen for the 1997 movie “GI Jane”, Demi Moore rocked the look until her hair grew out and never returned to it. Too bad, since she’s one of the female celebrities who shaved their heads and really looked hot.

Rose has been shaving her head since she was 19 and the look really works for her. After dating Kanye West for two years, Amber Rose is now married to rapper Wiz Khalifa and kept her look even after becoming a mother.
