Aside from their unique personalities that never fail to attract media attention and actively expand their fan base, Katy Perry and Rihanna have one more thing in common: they will both continue the success of their first fragrances with a brand new scent that will most likely continue the previous successes.

If Katy is going for a similar theme with her new Meow fragrance, Rihanna chose to diversify her scent by showing one new side of her. The singer has done a survey asking women whether they are flowers or rebels and, since 68% of them defined themselves as rebels, the singer decided to develop a sassier scent for her second fragrance.

Good news don’t stop here, as you will soon be able to test the new scent which will be released in early December at Macy’s and furthermore, Parlux Fragrances Inc. will expand the distribution of the perfume to Europe and Latin America to be able to reach a wider market portion.

Are you ready to be dazzled by the new notes of the fragrance? The new scent apparently belongs to the gourmand chypre category and skillfuly combines a steady base of patchouli, musk, amber and coffee with interesting core consisting of cacao absolute, vanilla orchid and heliotrope blended with strawberry, ginger and plum as its top notes.

To be more easily recognizable for the customers, the bottle design is essentially a variation of the first fragrance by Rihanna, Rebl’ Fleur. Prices for the new scent will be as follows: $49 for a 1.7-oz. eau de parfum spray, $59 for 3.4-oz. version and $30 for a 6.7-oz. body lotion. For the Macy’s fragrance launch a special package consisting of Rihanna’s new CD, which will drop Monday, a 3.4-oz. Rebelle and a 3.4-oz. Reb’l Fleur ($118) will be prepared.

The ad campaign for the perfume was already prepared and Riri turned to the people she knows and trusts, like Anthony Mandler, her music video director. Whether the company’s projections of 70% of the first fragrance sales levels will be reached remains to be seen.
