Katy Perry and John Mayer broke up again a few days ago, recent reports say. E! was the first one to deliver the news, citing reports from a close source which stated that this time it might be for good. It appears that the ‘Roar’ singer was the one that called it quits, however, neither of the two stars nor their reps have released any official statement on the matter. The two stars haven’t made any announcement on the subject on their Twitter accounts either.
Though the couple’s relationship, which started in the summer of 2020, hit some rough patches and it’s not the first time they decided to end it, things appeared to be going well lately and there were even a couple of engagement rumors, especially since the ‘Dark Horse’ singer was seen sporty an accessory that resembled a diamond engagement ring. According to the reports from Us Weekly, stress over Katy’s upcoming Prismatic world tour has fueled frequent arguments, but the same reports say that the two don’t have hard feelings towards each other and that they plan on staying friends.
There were also a couple of things that happened lately that seem to support the theory that Katy Perry and John Mayer split. Among them is the fact that they’re both extremely busy and working constantly, which is undoubtedly enough to put a significant strain on any relationship. Plus, the fact that they weren’t seen together in public lately and didn’t even tweeted each other recently, as well as the fact that Katy and Miley Cyrus locked lips a while back (though to be fair, this came as a total surprise for Katy and was one more of Miley’s attempts to shock than anything else), might have been signals that pointed out that things were not well between the two.
It may be impossible to tell whether this decision is final, however, one thing is for sure: the two will be spending quite a lot of time apart. The two performers have packed schedules for the next months, as both of them are going on world tours. Apparently, Katy Perry has her hands full from May until November as she just added another leg of her tour, while John Mayer is booked from April to June.
