Rooney Mara, the amazing actress that interpreted the role of Lisbeth Salander in the movie ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ shows off another side of her on the cover of Vogue November 2020 issue. The 26 year old beauty interprets the role of a troubled teenager who dons a short punk hairstyle and several piercings in her ears, lip, brow, nose and nipple, piercings which the actress had done for the role.
Without the bleached eyebrows, piercings, fake dragon tattoo on the back and short crop, Mara Rooney looks unrecognizable. The young actress who stills maintained her black hair color features a soft bobbed hairstyle with short full baby bangs, a look that is both very feminine and up to date.
The new adaptation of the Swedish novels ‘Millennium’ written by Stieg Larsson gave Mara the opportunity to demonstrate her amazing acting skills. The diva tells Vogue the American version of the movie is more heartbreaking. She says: “One of the things that make our version that much more heartbreaking, is that even though I am playing a 24-year-old, I look much younger. I look like a child.”
The role also required Mara to shed a few pounds as the character she had to play was quite skinny. When asked if she felt she had to become unhealthy skinny, the actress told the magazine that: “Umm… not really.”
The before and after seems amazing and it appears that the role she played influenced Mara in her current lifestyle as she says: “Before, I dressed much girlier, A lot of blush-colored things. Now I literally roll out of bed and put on whatever is there. I have really enjoyed being a boy this last year.”
According to the actress, the look transformation shocked her as well. Apparently, it wasn’t only the piercings which she had done all in just one day and the short punk crop featuring shaved sides that stunned her, but the transformation of her eyebrows. Eyebrows mights seem like a small detail but the transformation they can bring over a person’s facial features is immense, so no wonder celebs turn towards the best cosmetologists to get their eyebrows looking perfect. She said:
“…(the beauty team) cut my hair, shaved the sides, bleached the eyebrows, then dyed my hair black. Then we went and did the piercings – all in one day. I went in looking like Erica Albright (her Social Network character) and I came out like this. The eyebrows were the biggest shock because that really changed my face, and I didn’t recognize myself. But I was fine because I knew it was going to be really helpful for getting into character.”
Acclaimed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott captured Mara’s natural beauty and gave her look a total spin by capturing the actress on camera while wearing gorgeous glam dresses, gorgeous hair and makeup in amazing outdoor scenery as well as in the studio.
