Designer Sarah Burton proves that she’s worthy of the position she occupies as creative designer of Alexander McQueen with every collection and to reinforce our statement we’re proud to present the new Alexander McQueen pre-fall 2020 collection which shows clearly that Ms. Burton is quite capable of infusing the label’s trademark elements into the designs all while adding her own feminine touch to the collections. Alexander McQueen’s pre-fall 2020 collection oozes vintage elegance, femininity and refinement, so if you’re looking for an outfit that will surely make heads turn, this is definitely a collection to focus on!
The pre-fall 2020 collections seem to be focused on reviving past trends and the vintage overload makes us quiver with excitement as these designs have that ‘je-ne-sais-quoi’ that stands out from the crowd! According to Vogue, Sarah Burton said that for the pre-fall 2020 collection she researched “the low church, puritans, nuns and popes” and apparently she did her homework as all the designs reflect these particular influences.
The dark, evil queen vs the angelic are the words that came to our mind after browsing through the magnificent collection which made its debut with a long, black nun-like dress featuring a belt that emphasized the model’s wasp waist and floral cut out motifs that added a bit of sexiness and modernism to the design. Sexiness was accentuated by lovely flaring short vintage dresses paired with sexy over the knee boots and shirt dresses paired with ankle boots and the result was just irresistible!
Although dresses seem to be the focus of the collection, stylish pants and shirts, capes and coats have also made their presence felt. Each design looked like it had a story to tell, like it belonged to a royal and that feeling made us fall under the spell of the magical collection.
Floor-length dresses featuring asymmetric cuts, siren shapes or princess-gown proportions emphasized the glamor part of the Alexander McQueen label, and the variety of the designs is admirable.
Although the designs were mainly kept simplistic as far as color goes, lovely and subtle color blocking effects and graphic prints were introduced to take away any somberness that the collection might have exuded, so if you’re ready to be hypnotized by the vintage-elegance of the new pre-fall 2020 designs created under the Alexander McQueen label, take a peek at the following designs and enjoy the visual spectacle!
