Christian Dior Spring 2020 Couture Collection
The Christian Dior spring 2020 couture collection revolved around the idea of modern elegance with a fab ladylike twist. Raf Simons’ fourth couture collection for Dior brought a more personal perspective compared to the other lines as the designer focused more on addressing the needs of the brand’s customers, on “the emotional experience of couture — the relationship between the clients, the salon and the women,” rather than on a more abstract, arbitrarily chosen concept. The result was an interesting lineup of feminine ensembles which combined some of the fashion house’s trademarks with a fresh perspective, bringing several gorgeous looks into the spotlight.
A hint of delicacy defined the new Christian Dior couture collection for spring 2020. Though the line didn’t feature dresses exclusively, the new line was definitely filled with red-carpet worthy options that are sure to tempt those who love modern feminine pieces. The designer focused on A-line silhouettes, brought many architectural accents and relied on strategically placed cutouts to bring a hint of sexiness to the new looks. Variations on the label’s iconic ‘bar’ jacket were also spotted along with chic cigarette pants or bustier dresses.
Dior’s spring 2020 couture collection brought both minimalism inspired looks and stunning statement pieces. The color palette was well defined, revolving mostly around black, navy, white, pastel green and flashes of delicate pink. Despite the relatively exclusive nature of couture lines, it seems like the focus on practicality remains very strong. This tendency was noticed especially during the past seasons, however, the shift from abstract concepts to serving the customer’s real needs seems to be persisting.
In terms of accessories, the Christian Dior haute couture collection for spring 2020 hasn’t brought a lot of novelties, however, it seems like metallic accents still have a well set place in this season’s trends as well, judging by the fabulous shoes that complemented some of the new looks.
