The spring 2020 season proved to be quite different from everything we imagined as apparently fashion designers chose either a path to simple chicness or a path to opulent designs that pack a high dose of edginess. However, a handful of designers chose balance and femininity as their theme for the spring 2020 collection and Elie Saab is one of them. The designer emphasized casual chicness at the beginning of the collection through the use of stylish monochrome garments such as classic straight cut trousers paired with a matching tucked-in shirt buttoned-up all the way, through pencil skirts paired with stylish shirts, fabulous jumpsuits and adorable dresses. The simple, chic garments created out of the most exquisite fabrics exuded refinement, making them perfect for the modern day diva that is looking for day-wear designs that have that royal chicness that make heads turn.
The casual designs switched to modern and then to the much awaited evening dresses that the designer is known to masterfully create. The modern dresses were created using soft, precise lines and colorful digital prints, which seems a bit of an odd option hence they’ve lost their popularity since last year’s spring season. However, the colorful designs had a springy, playful feel, making them quite a delight to watch. Although all the designs looked amazing, ‘les pièces de résistance’ of the collection were the amazing embellished column dresses. Their flowing lines and glitzy glamor made jaws drop, as they do each and every season, but somehow the designer manages to reinvent the designs while keeping that distinct couturier embellishments that pack a high visual impact.
