Tutus became fashion sweethearts not only among ballerinas. Who would have thought that this funny and at the same time glamorous piece would be really worn outside the ballet clubs.
Let’s see how to make no sew tutu!
The first step is to measure your waist or hip, depending on the spot you want to wear your tutu. Then take an elastic band or a large ribbon and place it together with the 40 inch long tulle on a large table. If you want a less puffy tutu make these stripes wider and longer.
So far so good, now cut the tulle stripes. Be careful make it longer since when you’ll attach it to the base it will become much smaller. Now, take the stripes and fold them into half, this way you’ll create a super-puffiness. Leave an extra ½ inch if you want to sew these to the base. However for a no sew tutu you should leave more.
Grab the folded strip and make a little loop and pass the tulle under the elastic, pulling the ends through it. Now the tulle piece is attached to the base, you can make your tutu fluffier if you tie it tightly.
Depending on the length you want, you can cut longer pieces of tulle. Repeat this process until you attached all the stripes to the ribbon or elastic band.
For extra load of fun, decorate your tutu with glitter. Make some glue dots on the tulle and attach small ribbons, feathers, lace or other crazy accessories to it. Use your creativity to become a little princess or a punk diva.
