The best description of the show comes from the label itself: “A hypnotizing dance of fire circles the runway: an equestrian atmosphere alternates with flashes of elaborate flapper dresses, like a modern day hunting party that blends with the symbols of the Maison.” Decadent ensembles featuring variations on the label’s favorite animal prints, stunning outwear choices, luxurious fur trims and flame motifs proved to be the best highlights of the show. The Salvatore Ferragamo fall 2020 collection seemed to be based on the idea of understated luxury with a modern allure. Designer Massimiliano Giornetti put forward a variety of sophisticated but highly wearable ensembles in dark versatile tones with colorful accents, animal prints or plaid patterns and subtle metallic elements. The label opted for well defined proportions and classic structures for the most part, even though the few blanket coats and capes the label first brought into the spotlight seemed to indicate a more bohemian perspective. The Emilio Pucci fall 2020 collection was inspired by the Native American and Inuit cultures. Designer Peter Dundas worked ethnic prints and opulent furs and brought ultra sizzling looks that are sure to ignite every bold fashionista’s imagination. Slinky fringed dresses, cozy Navajo-inspired knits, lamé details, form fitting dresses with elaborate beadwork, sexy knee high boots or strappy gladiator sandals proved to be among the best highlights of the new bohemian inspired line, which seemed to uncover a fresh facet of the luxury label’s aesthetic DNA. Designer Consuelo Castiglioni brought a diverse set of options with sporty, masculine accents and a plethora of eclectic prints, architectural proportions and playful volumes. Exaggerated proportions were also an important part of the Missoni fall 2020 collection, however, to a much smaller degree compared to the new Marni line. Rather than bringing shocking proportions into the spotlight, Angela Missoni focused instead on texture and unveiled a variety of stunning outwear choices featuring the brand’s iconic zig zag pattern and fur details, wool sweatshirts and sweatpants, tweed cargo pants and cool cowboy boots. The free spirited woman seems to have been the source of inspiration behind the new Missoni line. View the complete Missoni fall 2020 collection!
