Finally, Moschino’s fall 2020 collection opened its curtains to the audience present at the show’s debut at Milan Fashion Week and the flirty, chic and powerful approach to fashion brought by an array of stylish garments was indeed well worth the wait!
Rossella Jardini, Moschino’s Creative Director, chose to maintain her energetic, vintage-vibe vision of the modern Moschino girl and brought to the fashion scene an array of new designs that seemed inspired predominantly from London’s Queen’s Guards. The distinct feel of the collection was made visible from the moment the first model made her entrance on the catwalk sporting a tartan print blazer paired with a black and white top and a chic peplum detail pair of trousers.
Uniform inspired designs followed and helped give the collection a totally fierce style that made heads turn. This particular collection fused bold with soft elements to try and maintain the wearability factor high, and although the designer succeeded her goal, the collection is not for everyone as the fusion of elements leans more towards sweeping the statement-making fashionistas off their feet!
An array of kilt inspired plissé skirts paired with fabulous 60s mood blazers, fabulous coats, lovely trousers and ruffled blouses and dresses were accentuated in the lineup, thus underlining the need for diversity when it comes to style. There was a highly visible transition from boldly tartan printed designs to classic achromatic black and white designs to ethnic elements and back to vintage classics brought by metallic floral damask garments that kind of looked like straight out of Vera Wang’s pre-fall collection. Fortunately not all the designs were uber printed with tartan, baroque, paisley or other bold details as quite a few mono or duo-chromatic garments were introduced throughout the collection.
Chic, fierce and totally Moschino (the letter “M” usually surrounded by a heart shape detail was emblazoned on the majority of the designs), the new collection will surely make heads turn, so check out highlights of Moschino’s fall 2020 collection and see if the fashion house’s take on style suits your personality!
