Nicki Minaj Covers Allure April 2020
Nicki Minaj has fascinated an entire world with her talent, her voluptuous curves, confidence and funky style and it seems that the diva is quite comfortable in her own skin and loves sporting a unique hairstyle as she says she’s always loved to play with ‘next century’ looks. Showing off her style, Nicki Minaj graces the cover of Allure, the magazine’s April 2020 issue.
With a fierce attitude, ultra colorful outfits and funky hair, Nicki Minaj has made heads turn since her musical debut, but it seems that her love with hair versatility goes back a long time, around the age of 9, as according to the singer, that is the time when she started to experiment with bold looks and to love it as it allowed her to feel like someone else. She shares with Allure that:
“I was doing every – and anything to it — putting in wads of gel and brushing it to the next century, and just thinking I was so cute. I always thought I had an eye for that stuff. I had done something I thought was really, really, really cute, and I showed my neighbor. She was like, ‘Why’d you do that to your hair?’ And I never forget what I said: ‘I’m someone new in this hair.’”
Her love for channelling her diva style into various characters has broadened the singer’s fan target to children as well. The two little fans wearing pink tutus made a sensation on the Internet with their interpretation of Nicki Minaj’s song ‘Super Bass’ and are probably Nicki’s most famous child fans and it seems that Nicki knows how she managed to become so popular with the two. She says:
“I think as far as the younger demo is concerned, I play dress-up. I also can put on a very cartoonish voice. So sometimes children may not know what I’m saying, but they like the sound of it, and they think I sound like some weird character.”
The ‘Stupid H*&’ singer has a clear aim as far as her career goes and her goal is to follow-in the steps of rap mogul Jay-Z. Apparently, Nicki gave Jay-Z a heads-up that she’s coming for his spot at a Victoria’s Secret fashion show by saying to the rap superstar that:
“I never thought about music as just being the end-all, be-all. I always looked at it like a business, something that I could create an empire out of. So that’s why I’m only about to put out my second album and I’m already thinking about this. I had a little conversation with Jay-Z at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. He said, ‘Congratulations on all your success.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m coming for you. I’m coming for your spot, Mr. Mogul.”
