Rihanna is the newest celebrity to be honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America with a Fashion Icon Awards. The Barbados-born singer is only the 8th recipient of the prestigious title that solidifies the recipient’s status as a style icon.

2020 – Rihanna
The latest celebrity to be included in the very exclusive club of CFDA Fashion Icon Award winners, Rihanna will receive the prestigious award at the CFDA Fashion Awards on June 2. A true chameleon, both in regards to her fashion choices and her hairstyles, Rihanna is also the face of Balmain for the brand spring/summer 2020 campaign.
After landing her second big fashion campaign (the first was Armani Jeans), Rihanna also made headlines at the Paris Fashion Week F/W 14 with a daring mesh top.
2020 – Johnny Depp
The only man ever included in the list of CFDA Fashion Icon Award winners, Johnny Depp has proven himself to be a fashion trend-setter. While his scarves, bandanas and jewelry aren’t a good fit for every man, Depp has managed to become a style icon for millions of young men.

2020 – Iman
The Somali fashion model married to David Bowie has truly made an impact in the fashion world, both in her 14 years as a professional models and by creating her own cosmetics line (Iman Cosmetics) and signing young Somali designers to represent it.
After making her debut in the pages of Vogue in 1976, Iman has worked with major designers from Gianni Versace and Calvin Klein to Yves Saint-Laurent and Donna Karan, making her one of the most accomplished CFDA Fashion Icon Award winners.
2020 – Kate Moss
From her heroin chic days to her return as one of the biggest supermodels in the world, Kate Moss has modeled for all the major fashion brands and continues to be one of the most well-paid models in the world. After being honored by the CFDA, Kate Moss’ career took a step back related to a cocaine scandal, but in a year she was back on top, proving that her status as a fashion icon is untouchable.
2020 – Sarah Jessica Parker
After “Sex and the City” ended, Sarah Jessica Parker was welcomed in the club of CFDA Fashion Icon Award winners. The trend-setting looks she wore as Carrie Bradshaw contributed to her status as a style icon, but Parker continued to push boundaries by becoming the face of Gap and even launching her own perfumes and shoes. A close friend to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the actress is also a rumored contender for the prestigious position after Wintour’s retirement.

One of the most impressive red carpet fashion icons, Nicole Kidman was the first actress to be honored by the CFDA. Her flawless looks during award season still keep her at the top of Hollywood’s best dressed list.
2020 – C.Z. Guest
A muse to artists like Andy Warhol and Salvador Dalí, C.Z. Guest was one of the first true fashion icons. The socialite who also became a fashion designer later in life was the first among the select list of CFDA Fashion Icon Award winners. Named in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1959, C.Z. Guest died one year later after receiving the CFDA distinction.
